IV Sedation Dentistry

Why Is IV Sedation Needed?

Is Sedation Safe For Me?
Many patients are great candidates for IV sedation. Before we recommend it, we’ll review your full health history, medications, and any conditions that could affect sedation safety. If you’ve been told you can’t have sedation, or you’ve had a reaction in the past, let us know right away so we can plan the most comfortable option for you. IV sedation may be appropriate for both adults and children when needed.

What Is The IV Sedation Process Like?
You’ll get comfortable in one of our treatment rooms, then we’ll start your IV and begin the medication. Within about 15 minutes, most patients feel very relaxed and drift into a light, sleep-like state. While you’re resting comfortably, we complete the planned treatment.
Afterward, we stop the medication and move you to a recovery area so you can wake up at your own pace. Since you’ll still be groggy, you’ll need a friend or family member to drive you home.
